Here’s a quick guide to visiting with your dog:
Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome on our outdoor patio.Our policy follows guidelines set by the Erie County Health Department and New York State law. Under New York Public Health Law, companion (non-service) dogs are permitted in outdoor dining areas like our patio. However, they are not allowed in Indoor dining or food preparation areas.
A companion dog is defined as a domesticated dog that accompanies an individual for the purpose of companionship or convenience.This definition does not include guide dogs, hearing dogs, or other service animals, which are governed by separate regulations and are permitted indoors.
Your dog should be:
- Friendly and well-socialized with people and other dogs
- Free of aggressive behavior (no biting, excessive barking, jumping, or chasing)
- Healthy, flea-free, and up to date on vaccinations
We may ask for proof of vaccinations, so please have that available just in case.
Yes—dogs must be leashed and under your control at all times.
As a dog owner, you are responsible for:
- Your dog’s behavior, safety, and well-being
- Supervising your dog at all times
- Cleaning up after your dog immediately (bags are available if you need them)
- Any damage or injury caused by your dog
We also recommend bringing anything your dog may need to stay comfortable, as supplies like water bowls are limited.
Yes. For the safety and comfort of all guests, staff may ask you and your dog to leave at any time, especially if:
- Your dog shows aggressive or disruptive behavior
- You are not following the policy
If asked to leave, we ask that you do so right away.
- The patio is not fully fenced, so please keep a close eye on your dog
- Rusty Nickel Brewing Co. is not liable for injuries, damages, or if a pet runs away
- All animals should be treated with care, respect, and kindness
